The original tree is located at Saifukuji Temple in Izu City, Shizuoka . Among the weeping type cherry blossoms, the flowers are large and are impressive. It is said that since the flowers are large and could be seen from Shimizu on the opposite of bay when they were in full bloom. The chracteristics of leaves and flowers are similar to those of variety ‘Eigenji’ (Cerasus serrulata ‘Eigenji’) , but distinguishable by weeping type.
