It is said that this name was given because many flowers grow densely at the tips of the branches and making large Temari (ball). It is light pink-red and has about 20 petals in middle size, but it is said that it is difficult to distinguish it from other similar satozakura (C. serrulata) named Edo, Azumnishiki, Temari, Itokukuri, and Beni Temari.
