英名/ English common name :  Cherry var. Banrikou

日本名 和名/ Japanese common name : バンリコウ 萬里香

原産地/ Original : Japan


It is a variety that was originally cultivated on the Arakawa bank in Tokyo and has a fragrant flower, so it is named after it, “Banri” means ten thousand miles and “kou” means fragrant. The variety was thought to be extinct, but the one discovered in Matsumae, Hokkaido can be considered to be this variety. However, some scientists are doubtful because of flowers do not hang down and the aroma is a little low.
