荒川堤由来の桜で、昔から記録が多くて諸説のある桜です。大島桜の影響が強く、白色中輪で芳香がありますが、花はあまり開かないようです。
This variety was planted on the Arakawa bank and some stories of origin of this variety. The variety is effected by Oshima (C. speciosa) and has strong fragrance with white large petals but not be opened fully.
