ブラジル原産アヤメ科ネオマリカ属の常緑多年草です。花は外花被片、内花被片3枚ずつの白色で、基部に黄色と紫褐色の縞模様があります。外花被片は大きく、細長でく白色で目立ち、基部に茶色・黄色斑があります。内花被片は立ち上がり、小さな鮮青色に白筋が入った部分は先端が内側に巻きます。
