もと東京の荒川堤で栽培されていた品種で香りの良いオオシマザクラの系統で、タキニオイ（滝匂）にも非常に近い品種といわれています。
This variety cultivated on Arakawa bank and cultivated variety of Oshimazakura (C. speciosa) and seems very close to Takinioi, fragrance variety.
