花は春に茎頂に穂状花序をつけます。雄花は茶褐色の葯をもつ白く太い雄蕊が4本長く突き出し、根元に小さな萼片があり花弁はありません。雌花は雄花の基部につき、雌蕊は先が二つに分かれています。
The flowers are white, borne above the foliage in late March and throughout the month of April.
