千島列島南部、北海道から中部地方に分布し、千島地方に自生することより、この名がつけられています。タカネザクラの変種とされています。花は淡紅色から白色で、直径2-2.5cmほどの花を1-3個ほど散形状につけます。
This species is native in southern Kurile islands, Hokkaido and northern part of Honsyu island in Japan, Chishima, Japanese name of Kurile islands, is named in Japanese from native islands. It has pale pink to whte 2-2.5cm petals of 1-3 bunch of flowers on the branch.
