低木で枝の先にポピーのような杯型の花を咲かせます。ピンクや紫の花びらが一般的のようですが、淡色でのどの部分に赤い斑点のものもあります。
The flowers are arranged in cymes of one to seven individual flowers, each 4–6 cm across with five purple to pink petals and five sepals.
