6月頃に１－２ｍの高さに茎を伸ばし白い花を咲かせます。葉は先端が垂れ、縁から白い繊維が剥離することからイトランの名前が付けられています。
It has notable for it’s rosettes of evergreen, tough, sword-shaped leaves and large terminal panicles of white or whitish flowers.
