マメザクラの名前の通り、樹高も大きくならず、また花も小ぶりです。富士山周辺や箱根に自生していたことから、フジザクラ、ハコネザクラとも呼ばれています。花はソメイヨシノより少し早めに咲きます。
One of the indiginous variety grown arounf Mt. Fuji, then called Fuji cherry. The petal of flower is smaller than Someiyochino.
